This 3-hour course will include a brief introduction to the sound system and will provide a kit consisting of a series of basic essential survival phrases with a phonetic approximation. The kit will cover topics such as:
- Greetings and other social niceties
- A “Food Request List” along with “Menu Reader” for Latin-based alphabets. (Not available for example in Arabic, Russian or Chinese and Japanese given the different font).
- Numbers
- Getting places in a taxi
- Simple communications strategies
- Emergencies
